    List of Ingredients




    1 pkg dry yeast
    1/3 C sugar
    2 tsp baking soda
    3/4 C melted butter
    3/4 C blanched almond, finely chopped
    5 C flour
    3/4 tsp salt
    1 qt buttermilk
    4 eggs

    Recipe



    Combine dry ingredients. Stir in the buttermilk and butter. Beat in eggs until batter is blended but lumpy. Stir in almonds. Cover bowl and let rise in a warm place about 30 minutes. (or refrigerate overnight).
    Bake in preheated waffle iron. Keep warm while the rest cook, in a 300 degree F. oven. right on the racks.
    These can be cooled, wrapped and frozen for later use if desired, for up to 1 month. Reheat, frozen in the toaster.
