    Loaf, yeast, Shredded Wheat

    List of Ingredients

    2 cakes yeast
    1/4 C lukewarm water
    2 T plus 1 tsp sugar
    2 C boiling water
    4 crumbled shredded wheat buscuits
    3 T fat
    1 T salt
    1/3 C dark molasses
    5-5 1/2 C flour

    Recipe

    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Add 1 tsp sugar and let stand until spongy. Pour boiling water over crumbled shredded wheat biscuits. Add fat, sugar, salt and molasses. Add flour gradually, mixing until a stiff dough is formed, Knead and place in greased bowl. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Knead down and let rise again. Shape into loaves and place in a greased pan and let rise until doubled. Bake in 350 degree oven about 1 hour.
