Recipe Introduction
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
List of Ingredients
2 C all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 C currants
2 T sugar
1/2 C buttermilk
1 T sherry wine
Recipe
Combine dry ingredients and currants. Combine the buttermilk and sherry. Pour it into the dry ingredients. Gently mix with the hands to a soft dough. Press out to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes with a biscuit cutter. Lightly grease cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 14-18 minutes. Cool slightly. Split the buns and fill with ham slices or turkey. Also can be served with jam for breakfast.
