- 1/2 C unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 shallot (or 2 cloves garlic) finely minced
- Grated or minced zest of 1 lemon
- Grated or minced zest of 1/2 orange
- 1 T dried herbs; thyme, rosemary or oregano
- 1/2 tsp bourbon, brandy or cognac
- salt to taste
Instructions
- beat ingredients together. Place in a ramekin or crock, or roll into a tight cylinder on waxed paper and enclose in plastic wrap. Chill for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 6 months.
