    Cake, Sausage, Cabbage Hill

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pound fresh bulk sausage
    • 1 C seedless raisins
    • 1 pint boiling water
    • 3/4 -1 pound brown sugar
    • 1 C molasses
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • 1 tsp ground clove
    • 1 tsp baking powder, dissolved in a little water
    • 1 C walnuts
    • 4 C flour


    Instructions


    1. Mix all but the flour together. Gradually add the flour, up to 1 tablespoon extra if batter is not stiff enough. Mix well.

    2. Pour into a tube or bundt pan. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Serve as a main dish, or if using as a dessert. Make an icing of 1 C confectioners sugar, 3 ounces cream cheese,1 1/2 T cream or milk. Beat and gradually add 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp cinnamon, or serve with Brandied Hard sauce
