List of Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh bulk sausage
- 1 C seedless raisins
- 1 pint boiling water
- 3/4 -1 pound brown sugar
- 1 C molasses
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground clove
- 1 tsp baking powder, dissolved in a little water
- 1 C walnuts
- 4 C flour
Instructions
- Mix all but the flour together. Gradually add the flour, up to 1 tablespoon extra if batter is not stiff enough. Mix well.
- Pour into a tube or bundt pan. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Serve as a main dish, or if using as a dessert. Make an icing of 1 C confectioners sugar, 3 ounces cream cheese,1 1/2 T cream or milk. Beat and gradually add 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp cinnamon, or serve with Brandied Hard sauce
