List of Ingredients
1/2 pound sausage
1/4 pound crumbs
1/4 pound flour [1/4 C]
1/4 pound sugar [1/2 C]
3 oz shredded suet
1 gill milk [1/2 C]
1/2 tsp baking powder
3 dessertspoons currants
1 egg
2 T lard
1/4 tsp mixed spice for cakeRecipe
Break up bulk sausage, combine all ingredients and bake in a springform pan at 350 degrees F for 1/2 -1 hour. For dessert top with hard sauce.
If desired pour half the batter into pan, add a large slice of ham, or several smaller pieces arranged to fit pan. top with raw eggs. Pour rest of batter over and bake 1-1 1/2 hours or until eggs are set. Serve for breakfast cut in wedges.
