    2 cakes.

    List of Ingredients

    1 pound butter
    1 pound flour
    1 nutmeg, grated
    1 pound sugar
    10 eggs
    2 T wine

    Recipe

    Beat butter and sugar until light. Add wine and spice with 1/4 of the flour.
    Whisk eggs until thick and add 1/2 at a time with remainder of flour.
    After beating well together, let batter remain for a short time in a cool place. Fill pans more 1/2 full. Bake in a quick oven.
