    List of Ingredients


    • 10-12 apples
    • 2 C sugar
    • 1/8 tsp salt
    • 2 T gelatine
    • 6 T cold water
    • 1 C chopped walnuts
    • 1 1/3 T lemon juice


    Instructions


    1. Cut the apples into small pieces, unpeeled. Cook slowly until tender, in just enough water to keep from scorching.Then put it thruogh a sieve.
    2. Add sugar and salt, cook until very thick, stirring to prevent sticking. usually 15 minutes.
    3. Soak gelatine in the cold water and add to apple mixture. stir until dissolved. Remove from heat.
    4. pour into shallow pans to cool. Chill.When set cut into squares or rectangles and roll in powdered sugar.
