    Peppermint Bark Candies

    When pouring the candies into the molds you want to end up with candies about 1/2 inch deep by 2 inches square.

    List of Ingredients




    Dark Chocolate Bark

    1 -2 pounds dark chocolate.


    Directions

    Butter square molds. (2x2 inch)

    Place chocolate in a double boiler and melt over hot, not boiling water, stirring often.

    Pour chocolate mixture into prepared molds and when the outer edges are cooled enough to be firm, but centers are still liquid, pour the still hot chocolate out of the molds leaving a shell of chocolate in each mold. Chill .


    White Chocolate Bark
    2 cups of candy cane pieces or peppermint candies, smashed into small pieces.
    2 pounds white chocolate
    1 to 2 teaspoons peppermint extract (optional)

    Directions:

    Slowly heat chocolate in a double boiler until it’s completely melted, stirring often.
    Stir in the peppermint extract (if using) and then mix in some of the candy pieces (reserve some for tops).
    Pour mixture evenly into the chilled chocolate shells and sprinkle with some of the remaining candy pieces, then chill in the refrigerator for approximately 1 hour.
    Once fully chilled and hardened, remove from the molds and Chill for 30 minutes or until firm, Store in an airtight container, in a cool, dry place.
