    Recipe Introduction

From the heart of the Midwest, these are a staple at local fairs and carnivals. Though they might look like popcorn, they taste like cheese! We're telling you this is one of the best fried appetizer recipes, so go try it now!

    List of Ingredients

    1 C. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 C. milk
    1 lb. cheese curds
    1 qt. oil

    Recipe

In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the eggs and milk. Mix until smooth. If you'd like a thinner batter, add more milk to suit. Toss the cheese curds in the batter.

Heat the oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Fry the coated cheese curds approximately 1 minute each, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Serve with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or some french onion dip for the ultimate appetizer.
