List of Ingredients

2 C shortening (2pounds)
1 1/2 C white sugar
1 1/2 C brown sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
6 C flour
1 tsp soda
2 T cinnamon (yes, tablespoons)
2 C chopped dates
1 C chopped walnuts


Recipe

Melt shortening and mix with sugar and beaten eggs, Sift together dry ingredients and add to the shortening mixture along with chopped dates and nuts. Mix well. Pack in strips wrapped in wax paper and chill 12 hours before cutting and baking. Bake at 400 degrees for 7-10 minutes.
