    This is similar to a Russian recipe and is replenished every one to three weeks, or as used.

    List of Ingredients




    1 pound pineapple chunks
    1 pound sliced peaches
    1 pound apricot halves
    1 pound cherries
    1 1/4 C sugar
    1 1/4 C brandy

    Recipe



    layer the fruits in a jar ample enough to hold all. Cover, but not tightly, for about 3 weeks, at room temperature. Stir it a couple of times a week.
    Serve over pound cake, ice cream, or both. Be sure to reserve 1 cup of starter at all times.
    To replenish, add 1 cup sugar and a fruit every one to three weeks, alternating fruit each time. Stir gently, let stand 3 days before using.
