    Makes 22.

    List of Ingredients




    4 T butter
    2/3 C flour
    1/2 C boiling water
    2 eggs
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp sugar
    1/2 tsp nutmeg

    Recipe



    Bring butter and water to a boil, add flour all at once, stirring continuously. Cook until mixture leaves sides of the pan. When cool add seasonings and eggs, one at a time, beating well. Drop by teaspoonful into boiling salted water or broth. Dip the spoon in hot liquid after dropping each dumpling so the mixture will not stick to the spoon. Cook, uncovered for 4-5 minutes and they are ready for your soup.
