Danish Apple Wreath

Recipe Introduction
I have included a recipe for apple filling, personally I like using apple butter.
List of Ingredients
1 recipe "pastry to make danishes"
1 recipe remonce
1 recipe apple filling
1 recipe egg wash
sliced almonds
Recipe
Roll out 8 ounces base pastry dough 3/8 inch thick, to a 10x20 oblong. than cut in half. (use half for Paris wreath and half for apple wreath if desired). On the middle third of the apple wreath dough spread a good layer of remonce, then apple filling, Fold 1/3 of the dough over to the middle. The upper edge is folded over to the middle also. Place on the cookie sheet in a circle and seal the ends. Cover and leave to rise for 45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 400"F. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with almonds Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden. Cool.
Apple Filling:
Peel, core and slice 1-2 cooking apple and place in a pan with 1 tablespoon of water. Cover the pan and cook over a gentle heat until the apples are soft. Puree, or force through a sieve, then stir in 1 teaspoon sugar.
