    1 cake yeast
    1 C milk
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 C sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    4 C flour
    1/2 C butter, softened
    1/2 C raisins
    1/4 C chopped citron
    1/2 C currants
    1/2 C blanched almonds

    Recipe



    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk. Add salt, sugar, eggs, and 1/2 the butter. Add the flour, mix well and pour out onto a well floured board and knead until smooth and satiny. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled.
    Knead down and knead in fruit. Let rise again to double.
    Spread with butter and fold outside edges over top to meet in center.
    Shape in a ring on a flat pan, let rise 1/2 hour and bake at 375 degrees F. you can also make this a round loaf and spread top with butter. Bake 1 hour.
