2 C sugar, divided
2 C water
2 T butter + 2 tsp, divided
1/8 tsp salt
1 1/2 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 c milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Recipe
Carmelize 1/2 C sugar and add 1 c sugar, water, 2 tsp butter and salt to make a syrup.
Cream together 2 T butter, 1/2 C sugar, flour, baking powder, milk and vanilla.
Drop the creamed dough into the syrup and cook 20 minutes over low heat without lifting cover. Or bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Serve hot with whipped cream.
