Bulger Tamale Pie

Recipe Introduction
Serves 6
Preheat oven to 350.degrees F.
List of Ingredients
- 3/4 C bulger
- 1 1/2 C water
- 2 T oil
- 1/4 C chopped onions
- 2 T chopped bell pepper
- 3/4 pound ground beef
- 1 C canned corn
- 1 (2 1/4 oz) can sliced olives
- 1 1/2 C canned tomatoes
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp seasoned salt
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
- Soak bulger in water for at least 2 hours.
- Meanwhile, heat oil, add the quarter cup onion and bell pepper. saute until limp. Add the three quarter pound ground beef and stir to break up as it cooks.
- Combine the meat mixture, bulger, corn, small can of olives, one and one half cups of tomato, lemon juice, chili powder and garlic. Mix well.
- Turn into a 2 quart covered casserole and bake at 350 degrees.F. for 1 hour.
