    List of Ingredients


    • 2 C milk
    • 4 large eggs
    • 1/2 C sugar (for caramel)
    • 1/3 C sugar
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Place the half cup sugar in a small, deep, heavy saucepan, which can go in the oven. Brown the sugar and coat sides of pan by tipping and rolling pan. As sugar melts and caramelizes.
    2. Whip eggs, milk, one third cup sugar, vanilla and salt until foamy. Pour it into the saucepan, being careful not to disturb the caramel.
    3. Bake in a bain=marie with water one half inch up the side of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
    4. Cool and invert onto a plate.
