List of Ingredients
- 2 C sweetened, cooked, fruit or berries
- 1/2 C flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1 T shortening
- 3 T milk
Instructions
- Put fruit in a kettle which has a a tight fitting lid. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Add milk.
- Heat fruit to a boil. Dip a teaspoon into boiling sauce and cut off a teaspoon of dough. Drop into fruit. Repeat until all dough is used. Cover kettle tightly and boil 15 minutes or until dumplings are done. Do not lift lid.
- Serve hot or cold, plain or with cream.
