List of Ingredients
- 1 long roll of crusty bread
- anchovie paste
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 pound of smoked ham
- 1 pound roast veal
- 1 pound smoked tongue
- 3-4 slices bacon
- 3 hard-boiled eggs
- 1 large garlic dill pickle
- 1 tin portuguese sardines
- 1/4 C pistacchios
Instructions
- Cut both ends from bread, hollow out the loaf.
- Mix anchovie paste and butter and coat the inside of the bread. Chill while making the stuffing.
- Grind together the ham,veal and tongue.
- Fry bacon and crumble. mash the eggs and dill pickle. Mash sardines and chop the nuts.
- Mix with the meats and grind again. Tightly pack this mixture into the bread.
- Chill for at least one hour, wrapped in plastic wrap.
Final Comments
A pinch of dry mustard may be added to second grinding.
