    List of Ingredients


    • 1 long roll of crusty bread
    • anchovie paste
    • 1 tsp butter
    • 1 pound of smoked ham
    • 1 pound roast veal
    • 1 pound smoked tongue
    • 3-4 slices bacon
    • 3 hard-boiled eggs
    • 1 large garlic dill pickle
    • 1 tin portuguese sardines
    • 1/4 C pistacchios


    Instructions


    1. Cut both ends from bread, hollow out the loaf.
    2. Mix anchovie paste and butter and coat the inside of the bread. Chill while making the stuffing.
    3. Grind together the ham,veal and tongue.
    4. Fry bacon and crumble. mash the eggs and dill pickle. Mash sardines and chop the nuts.
    5. Mix with the meats and grind again. Tightly pack this mixture into the bread.
    6. Chill for at least one hour, wrapped in plastic wrap.


    Final Comments


    A pinch of dry mustard may be added to second grinding.
