    Norwegian Butter Cookies

    Recipe Introduction


    You will need a large pastry bag with a star tip, or cookies press.
    Makes 48 cookies.
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

    List of Ingredients




    #/4 pound of butter (3 sticks), room temperature
    1 1/2 C sugar
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    3 C all purpose flour
    1/3 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract (or almond,etc....)
    1/4 C powdered sugar, sifted

    Recipe



    Cream butter, then slowly beat in sugar. Add lightly beaten eggs.

    In a separate mixing bowl mix flour and salt. Gradually add to sugar mixture. Blend well. Add vanilla.

    Fill cookie press or pastry bag with one fourth of dough at a time. Pipe cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet, Spacing 2 inches apart.

    Bake 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 10 minutes on cookie sheet. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Over waxed paper, lightly dust with powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container.
