Creamy Nut Filling and Frosting

Recipe Introduction
Frosting for a 2 layer cake.
List of Ingredients
2 1/2 T Softasilk Cake Flour
1/2 C milk
1/2 C shortening (half butter)
1/2 C granulated sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 C coarsely chopped nuts
1 C confectioners sugarRecipe
Method (with Dormeyer mixer);
Into the cake flour, gradually blend 1/2 C milk. Cook to a very thick paste(about 10 minutes),Stirring constantly. Cool to lukewarm. Meanwhile, cream half cup shortening with granulated sugar, and 1/4 tsp salt. Add the lukewarm paste. Beat with mixer until fluffy. Fold in 1/2 tsp vanilla, and nuts. Use about one third for filling. To remainder, blend in up to 1 cup sifted confectioners sugar to make a mores generous amount for top and sides of cake.
