Cream butter until soft, blend in powdered sugar and blend in remaining ingredients. Spread on cool cake.
Frosting variations:
Butterscotch - substitute 1 cup brown sugar for 1 cup powdered sugar.
Coconut - Add grated coconut to top of basic frosting. Orange - Add orange juice for liquid in basic recipe. Also 1 tsp. grated rind and omit vanilla.
Chocolate - Add 1 square melted chocolate to basic recipe.
