Crisco


List of Ingredients

1 (2 lb.) pkg. powdered sugar
1 C Crisco shortening
3/4 C milk
Dash salt
1/4 C flour
1 T vanilla extract
2 tsp. flavoring, if desired




Recipe

Use a large mixer bowl. Beat half the sugar, the Crisco, half the milk, salt, flour and flavorings until mixed. Gradually add the rest of the sugar. Add rest of the milk as needed. Beat well for 5 minutes or so, scraping the bowl often.

If coloring is desired, divide into batches. Mix in the color. If a stiffer icing is needed to make roses, etc., beat in more powdered sugar. If too stiff, add milk by drops and stir.
