List of Ingredients
1 rabbit
water
vinegar
1 onion
1/2 tsp salt
6 peppercorns
1 bay leaf
salt
pepper
flour
3 T fat
sweet or sour creamRecipe
Clean rabbit and cut into small pieces. Place in crock or jar.
Cover with water and vinegar in equal amounts.
Add onion, salt,peppercorns and bay leaf.
Soak rabbits for 2 days, then remove, reserving liquids.
Season with salt and pepper and roll in flour.
Brown in fat, then pour in vinegar and water liquids to 1/4 inch depth.
Cover tightly and simmer until done. Do not boil at anytime.
Remove meat from pot and thicken drippings. Add sweet or sour cream to gravy.
