List of Ingredients
1 T oil or butter
1 small onion, thinly sliced into rings
2 large, tart cooking apples, peel, core, in 1/2 inch slices
pinch salt
1 tsp fresh thyme, or to taste
1 T + 1 tsp sugar
2 tsp dry sherry
1 tsp wine vinegar
1 T butter
pepper to tasteRecipe
Heat oil until it shimmers. add onion and cook until softened, 7 minutes on low. Add apples, pinch salt and thyme. Cook, stirring frequently, until caramelized, 5-7 minutes. mix in sugar, sherry and vinegar. Remove from heat. Stir in butter and toss to coat. season with salt and pepper.
