Gallina Con Garbanzos

1/2 C dried chick peas
4 T olive oil
2 onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1, 4 pound young chicken, disjointed
1/2 C tomatoes
salt
3 red peppers(to taste)
Recipe
Soak peas overnight. Heat oil, add onions and garlic, brown lightly and remove. brown chicken in oil. Add browned onion, garlic, peas, tomatoes, salt and red peppers. Cover and simmer until chicken is tender, about 1 1/2 hours. Allow 3/4 pound of chicken per person.
