2 quarts flour
1 tsp baking powder
4 tsp salt
1/4 C lard
1 quart water
Recipe
Sift the flour well, add the baking powder and salt and sift again. Add lard and mix well before adding water. Knead dough until it is the consistency of chewing gum. (about 10 minutes). Pinch dough off into balls about the size of hens eggs. Flip this ball back and forth on the hands until it is round and thin. Pull the edges to keep it round. Bake on the top of a hot stove, being careful that a wrinkle does not appear on the edge. Brown on both sides. Serve hot or cold, as bread.
