    Rommegrot is sweet like a dessert, sugar and cinnamon on top.

    List of Ingredients




    4 C sweet cream
    2 C meil (semolina wheat flour with honey)
    4 C milk scalded
    1 tsp salt

    Recipe



    Put cream into heavy saucepan and boil for 10 minutes. Sift flour into cream very gradually with wire whisk to prevent lumps. Cook over moderate heat, stirring to bring out butterfat, remove and reserve this and keep warm. Add a little more flour to the pan and when well mixed add scalded milk gradually, stirring until smooth. Add salt and cook about 10 minutes more. Serve hot with drawn butterfat, sugar (or honey)and cinnamon. Pour a little milk around the edge of bowl and eat like mush.
    If you can't find meil, just use semolina flour and add sugar or honey to taste. (this also can be made with regular unbleached hard wheat flour).
