Baker's coconut Southern style is a can containing approximately 1 1/2 cups of slightly sweetened grated long shreds of coconut.

Baker's coconut, premium shred is a package containing 2 cups of sugar cured shredded coconut. (4 ounces).

To toast coconut;
Spread coconut in thin layer in pan. Place under broiler or in hot oven, 400 degrees F. until golden brown, stirring frequently, and being careful it does not burn.
