    List of Ingredients




    1 pound uncooked elbow macaroni
    3 tablespoons butter
    1/4 cup flour
    3 cups milk
    1 (12-oz.) can evaporated milk
    1 cup shredded smoked Gouda cheese
    1/2 cup shredded New York sharp Cheddar cheese
    3 ounces spreadable cream cheese
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    Oil or butter for pan

    Recipe




    1. Prepare macaroni according to package directions.
    2. Meanwhile, melt butter over medium heat. Gradually whisk in flour, cook, whisking constantly, 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk and evaporated milk until smooth, cook, whisking constantly, 8 to 10 minutes or until slightly thickened. Whisk in Gouda cheese, cheddar, cream cheese and salt.
    Serve hot, or bake
    3. Preheat oven to 350°.
    4. Pour pasta mixture into a 13- x 9-inch baking dish coated with oil or butter.
    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes.
    Var; you can use a bread crumb topping. You can also add ham and peas if desired.
