1 egg
milk
1 1/2 C flour
1 1/2 C cornmeal
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 T butter
Recipe
Break egg into measuring cup, add milk to make 1 cup.
Combine dry ingredients and work in the butter and milk mixture. Knead until smooth. Roll out on a floured board until thin.
Use filled and folded over. Bake at 400 degrees F. until lightly browned.
Lard pastry for empanadas (or pirozhki or pierogi)

1/3 C butter
1/3 C lard
1/3 C water
1 egg yolk (optional)
