    1/4 C butter, melted
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    2 C flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 C shortening or oil

    Recipe



    Melt butter and beat eggs. Add melted butter. Add flour and salt. Pinch off a walnut size piece of dough and roll into a paper thin 3-4 inch circle. Heat shortening in large skillet on high heat. reduce heat to medium and fry 2-3 ears at a time, giving each a swirl with a fork in the middle to form the ear.
    Drain on absorbent paper and cool.Cook cane syrup to the soft ball stage and and dip each ear in the syrup. Place on platter in one layer. Sprinkle chopped nut meat over before the syrup dries.
