    Short Biscuit Meat Pie Pastry

    List of Ingredients




    3 C flour
    5 tsp baking powder
    3/4 tsp salt
    3 T shortening
    6 T butter, divided
    1 C water

    Recipe



    Sift dry ingredients together. Measure in 3 T of the shortening, and chop it into the flour with the back and edge of a spoon until large flakes are formed. Add the water, mixing it in quickly. Transfer to a slightly floured board and roll to one half inch thickness. Spread it with 2 T butter to within one half inch of the edges. Fold it over and press the edges together. Roll it again, spread with2 more T of butter as previously. Repeat 1 more time. Use as desired.
