    Youngberries are a hybrid cross between blackberries and dew berries.

    List of Ingredients




    Pie pastry for 1 double crust pie
    3 C youngberries
    1 C sugar
    2 T cornstarch
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 T butter

    Recipe



    Wash and drain the berries. Combine with sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Roll out pastry for a 9 inch pie plate and line pie tin. Fill with the berry mixture, dot with butter. Add a top crust and crimp edges to seal. Cut steam vents and bake at 450 degrees F. 10 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350 degrees F. for 20-30 minutes longer.
