    Used by Chehalis, cowlitz, Klallum, Lummi, Makah, Nisqually, Puyallup, Quileute, Quinalt, Skokomish, Squaxin. Not to be confused with death camas, (having a creamy white flower). Camas has a blue flower.

    List of Ingredients

    Bulb is edible, peel it like an onion.
    can be eaten raw, but is better roasted, steamed or boiled.
    Do not overcook,(similar to new potatoes).
    Some Natives cooked it until black and ground it, using it to make gravy.
