Turkey Beignets, Deep Fried

1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup milk
2 cups chopped cooked turkey
oil, for deep frying
Recipe
Sift together the flour and baking powder. Add egg and milk; mix well (batter should be thick enough to coat turkey pieces). Add the chopped turkey to batter. Drop batter, a tablespoon at a time, into hot oil (about 365°). Turn until beignets are golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Serves 4.
