6 T flour
4 T butter
2 3/4 C milk
1/4 tsp fresh grated nutmeg
1 3/4 tsp coarse salt
fresh ground pepper
3/4 C heavy cream
Recipe
Melt butter in small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add flour, stirring to avoid lumps. Gradually whisk in milk and nutmeg. Season with salt and pepper.
Raise heat to medium and bring to just below a boil, stirring occasionally. Cook 2 minutes more, whisking constantly. Whisk in cream. Serve over Swiss chard or mixed into chard.
