Georgian Walnut Sauce

List of Ingredients
1 C walnut pieces
3 garlic cloves, peeled
1 1/2 tsp ground coriander seeds
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground fenugreek, or aniseed
a pinch of saffron, infused for 15 minutes in 1 T boiling water
2 T red wine vinegar
salt and pepper
Recipe
Puree until smooth and thick. Work in about 1 C warm water to make a sauce that's thin enough to pour. Taste and adjust seasonings.
Makes 2 C
Serve hot or cold with chicken, fish or vegetables.
