Currant Sauce

Wash 3 tablespoon of currants and boil gently in 3 cups water until tender. Melt a tablespoon of butter in a saucepan, add 2 tablespoons flour, gradually stir in the currants and their liquid and 1 tablespoon of treacle (golden syrup). Boil for 10 minutes, then add a tablespoon of vinegar, salt and sugar to taste. Serve with meat or fish.
