Fruit sauce for pudding

Apricot sauce; Soak a quarter of a pound of dried apricots overnight. put them on to boil in the water they were soaked in, adding a tablespoon of sugar. When they are quite soft, pass through a sieve. Bring the sauce once more to the boil, add some water if necessary and cool before serving.
Prune sauce; Basically the same as above recipe. Use half a pound of prunes and 4 cups water. Stew until they fall to pieces. pass through sieve and boil again. Serve hot or cold.
