Recipe Introduction
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
List of Ingredients
1/2 C butter
1 C brown sugar
1 egg
1 C grated raw carrots
1/2 C dates, cut in pieces
1 C seedless raisins
2 tsp candied lemon peel, cut in thin pieces
1 1/4 C flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 C chopped nuts
1 T water
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp allspice
Recipe
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg. Add soda dissolved in boiling water. Add fruit and carrots. Sift dry ingredients together and combine with rest of mixture. Pour into greased tube mold and bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees F. Serve with vanilla or lemon sauce.
