    Meat dumplings

    Mix 6 ounces sausage meat with a spoonful of fat, 1 cupful of dry breadcrumbs and half a teacup of milk, [2 1/2 oz] and a teaspoonful of cornflour. Add pepper and salt and work the mixture well. Form into small balls and poach in boiling water or weak stock for about 10 minutes.
