Mixed Fruit Soup

Take a quarter of a pound of prunes and the same of dried apples and 2 ounces of raisins and soak for a couple of hours in 2 pints of water.
Add another half pint and put the fruit on to boil with a small cupful of sugar, and a stick of cinnamon. Keep the lid on the pan and simmer gently until the fruit is soft. Mix a dessertspoon of arrowroot with a little water, stir into the boiling soup, cook a few minutes and then pour it up in a bowl. Cool before serving.
