    Soak a cupful of dried peas overnight in water with a pinch of baking soda. Next day, drain and drain and bring to a boil in three pints of water, again with a pinch of baking soda.When boiling,add half a pound of pickled pork, simmer for three hours, or until quite thick. Season with salt and pepper and cut up the pork into bite size pieces. Reheat and serve.
