7 slices bacon
1/2 C minced onion
5 C finely diced potatoes
4 C milk
A few finely minced celery leaves or parsley
Dumplings;
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 C flour
1/2 tsp salt

Fry bacon until nearly done, add onion and cook until clear. Add potatoes, cover tightly and cook 10 minutes, then add milk. bring to a boil and add small dumplings. Add seasoning and cook on low for 20 minutes. Thin with hot milk if necessary.
