Stewed Macaroni

Recipe Introduction
This recipe is out of an old book that mentions egg powder and rationing, most likely a reprint in the 1940s. Use something other than asbestos. I also added more cheese.
Boil a quarter of a pound of macaroni very gently in a pint of milk until it is tender. Stir frequently and put an asbestos mat under the saucepan to avoid burning. When the macaroni is cooked, mix in 2 tablespoons of grated cheese, a teaspoon of salt and a pinch of pepper.
