4 C gooseberries
4 C water
6 T cornstarch
sugar to tasteRecipe
Clean berries and cook until soft. Put through sieve or fruit press and return to fire. Make a paste of cornstarch and water and gradually add to gooseberry pulp, stirring continuously. Cook until clear. Sweeten to taste. Chill. Serve with cream and sugar.
