    Serves 8.

    List of Ingredients

    4 slices salt pork, diced
    6 onions, sliced
    1 qt cubed ,raw potatoes
    1 qt clams, preferably quahogs
    salt
    pepper
    2 qts boiling water
    1 C tomatoes

    Recipe

    cube and fry out salt pork, remove the cubes. Add sliced onions and lightly brown. Cover with water and cook until onions are soft. Add cubed potatoes and quahogs, which have been washed, steamed, removed from shells and chopped. Season with salt and pepper. Cover with boiling water, using 2 quarts. Cook until potatoes are soft. Add stewed tomatoes or canned tomatoes when chowder is ready to serve.
