Recipe Introduction
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
For 2 pounds of chestnuts. Make a long slit through shell on both sides. Brush with oil. Place in a shallow baking dish. Set in oven for 20 minutes. Remove and cool until easily handled. Remove shells and skins with the sharp point of a knife. Place in boiling, salted, water to cover for 20 minutes, or until tender.
